Headquartered in Morrisville, NC, Synoligo Biotechnologies is a Contract Research Organization (CRO) focused solely on the research, development, and manufacturing of diagnostic and therapeutic oligonucleotides. We provide fast, one-stop services with high-end preclinical solutions and CMC consultancy. As the Director, Business Development, you will have an influential hand in growing the organization and building brand recognition within the industry. This dynamic role will allow you to highlight both your strong sales and marketing acumen. The Director, Business Development is a doer—a boots on the ground leader, adding tangible value to a growing organization.
What you’ll do in this role
• Partner with company leadership, to design and execute a comprehensive sales strategy, encompassing sales goals, potential sales prospects, key clientele, and identification of regional events to participate in throughout the fiscal year.
• Engage in various sales endeavors, such as customer site visitation, virtual customer interactions, conference attendance, and conducting sales presentations.
• Through keen product and service knowledge, nurture existing customer relationships, as well as establish and build new business.
• Meet or exceed sales targets, in alignment with established metrics.
• Provide leadership with monthly sales projections and maintain detailed pipeline information.
• Keep management informed with regular reporting on account trends, economic conditions, and competitor landscape.
• Partner with company leadership, to develop and implement marketing strategies, to increase brand awareness and promote a strong digital footprint.
• Monitor industry trends while keeping abreast of competitive positioning and making necessary strategy adjustments; conduct market research and analysis as required to support strategy development.
What you bring to the table
• Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences or other related fields are preferred.
• Target driven with demonstrated sales track record within the Life Science space (biotech/pharma/med device).
• Oligonucleotide therapeutics CRO/CDMO experience required; Oligonucleotide drug development life cycle experience is highly desirable.
• Experience building marketing strategies, with a strong emphasis on digital marketing.
• Strong communication and relationship building capabilities.

• Effective organizational and time management skills, with the ability to perform under minimal
supervision.
• Capable of overcoming a steep learning curve within a fast-paced startup environment.
• Experience working in a start-up or small company environment is a plus.

What to expect
• Location – This is a remote position, supporting customers that reside on the West Coast and in
some instances, internationally. The ability to adjust to customer time zones is essential.
• Travel – Up to 30% travel is required. Travel may consist of customer visits and conference
attendance. Reasonable travel expenses will be covered by the company, in accordance with the
Synoligo Travel Policy.
